COSTA BRAVA

The best beaches and coves of the Costa Brava

La Cala Pedrosa, la Cala Rovira, la Cala sa Cova, la Cala del Pi, la Platja Gran de Platja d’Aro, la Platja Sa Conca… Platja d’Aro is located on a stunning coastline with numerous beaches and lovely coves waiting to be discovered. From large, sweeping beaches to tiny coves where crystalline waters lap under the trees, dedicated swimmers will find a wide variety of places to suit them.

The Costa Brava is deservedly famous: there are few areas of the Mediterranean with so many lovely beaches. We have selected seven that you mustn’t miss during your stay at the Cliper Apartments by Park Hotel San Jorge.

We will start with the most practical option, and the best beaches to go to with children. What could be easier than having the sea just two minutes walk from your accommodation in Platja d’Aro?

Or, if you feel like exploring further, here are some suggestions for beaches with all the services you might need.

Other family beaches on the Costa Brava

Tamariu . A family beach in an old fishing village with picturesque white houses. Perfect for those who love walking, as it can be reached by the camí de ronda coastal path.

Llafranc (Palafrugell). Another idyllic spot to spend the day with your loved ones. The beach is located in a bay at the foot of the Sant Sebastià mountain and right by the town of Llafranc, with a seafront promenade bustling with bars, restaurants and shops.

Aiguablava (Begur). This is one of the most popular spots with tourists on the Costa Brava. Its calm, shallow waters are perfect for small children to play. It is surrounded by nature, but still has all the services you need: lifeguards, a beach bar, restaurants, water sports equipment rental, and free parking. And if that was not enough, to the right of the beach there is a track leading up to a spot with the most spectacular views.

Platja Gran de l’Estartit – Illes Medes (Estartit), a long beach where you are sure to find a spot that is not overcrowded, even in high season. The beach has lovely views of the popular Illes Medes islands. Take goggles and a snorkel to enjoy the wealth of marine flora and fauna. Parking is free and there are plenty of services, including a wide range of water sports options.

Some of the prettiest coves

The Costa Brava is synonymous with clear waters surrounded by nature. Two of the area’s prettiest covesare directly accessible from the Park Hotel San Jorge, which you can visit as a guest at the Cliper apartments.

Cala Belladona: This is the cove you can see while sunbathing on our hotel’s fabulous terrace. And you can reach it just by going down some steps. For lovers of the Costa Brava, this is an unmissable experience.

Cala Cap Roig: Cala Cap Roig is right next to Cala Belladona, and can also be reached directly from the Park Hotel San Jorge.
